Delicia Munfus-McCray, MD,PhD is an adult, pediatric, and perinatal pathologist whose work is driven by both medical expertise and a deeply personal mission. After the heartbreaking stillbirth of her daughter, Priscilla, at 24 weeks, Delicia faced the same painful question so many grieving families ask: Why? Confronted with the high cost of answers and the lack of accessible services, she transformed her grief into purpose.

Leaving traditional hospital-based practice, she founded Priscilla’s Path, a tax-exempt nonprofit created in her daughter’s honor to ensure families can access autopsies that provide clarity, closure, and peace. She has since dedicated her career to developing a respectful, gentle, non-invasive autopsy approach in which babies remain in the hospital of birth and no surgical incisions are made, allowing families to receive critical answers with dignity and compassion during their most vulnerable moments.

Beyond her medical work, Delicia is a steadfast advocate for children and families. She supports children with special needs, authors faith-based books that nurture confidence and belonging in young readers, and coaches girls wrestling, helping elementary-aged girls build strength, resilience, and emotional fortitude.

Whether serving families in loss, children in need of encouragement, or young athletes finding their confidence, Delicia’s calling is clear: to bring answers, healing, and hope where it is needed most.
