On the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii is the small town of Kailua where 19 year-old Lisa Au and her family lived among its renowned white beaches and greenish-blue waters. But on January 20th, 1982, during a late-night torrential downpour, Lisa does not return home from dinner with her boyfriend, and her car is found abandoned on the side of a highway, turning the disposition of the island into a horror-stricken panic. Jenn, Court, and Beck talk through the events surrounding Lisa’s disappearance and the eventual discovery of her body, the steps law enforcement took in those initial first moments, and how their perspective and treatment of the case caused numerous mistakes to be made leaving behind a cold case that may never be solved.
This episode also recognizes Daylenn Pua, who went missing on February 27, 2015, from Oahu, Hawaii.
