Սարիղամիշ 1914. ինչպես Էնվերի ջախջախումը կանխորոշեց հայերի ճակատագիրը

Սարիղամիշը պարզապես մի ճակատամարտ չէր։ Այն պատմական այն կետն էր, որտեղ որոշվում էր ոչ միայն պատերազմի ընթացքը, այլև արևմտահայության ճակատագիրը։

1914–1915 թվականների ձմռանը Օսմանյան բանակի կործանարար պարտությունը Սարիղամիշում դարձավ մի շրջադարձ, որը երիտթուրքական վերնախավին մղեց դեպի 20-րդ դարի առաջին մեծագույն հանցագործությունը՝ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը։ Էնվեր փաշայի ձախողումը քողարկելու համար շրջանառության մեջ դրվեց կեղծ միֆը, թե թուրքական պարտության մեղավորը հայերն էին։

Հենց այս սուտն էլ դարձավ հայերի դեմ ատելություն բորբոքելու և հետագա ցեղասպանությունը «արդարացնելու» գործիքներից մեկը։
