We are so glad you are part of the Encounter Vineyard family. There is something beautiful about knowing that, across homes and lives and stories, we are walking this journey of faith together — finding and following Jesus in the ordinary and the extraordinary moments of life.

This weekend marks another turning of the page — not just another Sunday, but the beginning of the season of Lent. For forty days, the Church around the world slows down, recentres, and prepares its heart for Easter. Lent invites us to pay attention again. To wake up to God. To clear space. To notice where our hearts may have drifted and to gently return to the One who has never drifted from us.

It also feels significant that as Lent begins, we are launching our new series, Awaken. Over these coming weeks, we’ll be exploring what it means to awaken our faith, our prayers, our hope and our expectancy. This Sunday Mark is speaking on Encountering Jesus — because awakening doesn’t begin with better habits or stronger effort, but with meeting Him afresh. When we encounter Jesus — not just as an idea, but as a living presence — everything begins to stir.

It’s relaxed, friendly, and open to everyone — whether you are brand new to church, coming back after a while, or simply curious about who Jesus really is. We share food, watch a short film together, and open up space for honest conversations. Every question is welcome, and every viewpoint is respected.

Today Mark will be bringing the second message in our new series ‘Momentum’ where we explore what momentum is and how to know whether we do or don’t have it and how to get it for the areas in life that matter most. We will be looking at how we can ‘find faith in the wilderness’ as we continue to look at lessons we can learn from the life of Moses.

We do hope that you have had a good Christmas and that you have enjoyed some connection with your family and friends, as well as the wider church family.

As we gather back together this weekend, we are so looking forward to continuing to celebrate ‘God with Us’, as we look forward to the beginning of a new year and all that God has in store for us.

This January we begin the year with a series called ‘Momentum’ and we explore what momentum is. We will be looking at how we can know whether we have it or not, how to spot when momentum is moving and how it can be the energy to keep us moving forward.

Today’s message is called ‘Run the Race’ as Mark brings us a message out of Hebrews 12 to begin the new year.
