Thinking about making a lasting lifestyle change - but not sure where to begin? Welcome to the Podcast, Eat Better Food Today, where we believe that health and longevity begins with the food we eat. I'm Ken Counihan, and last year I had a serious health scare, which led me to explore, research, and break down what it is we are actually eating, and how to make a change, affordably - for good! I'm not a doctor but I have been reading and practicing healthier living with my wife and the help of the Cleveland Clinic for over a decade. This podcast will be an engaging and empowering vehicle to Inspire, Educate and Enable folks to Live a Healthier Life. We'll sit down with chefs, farmers, industry insiders, medical professionals, businesses, and patients, who will share their stories and add their insight into the most fundamental of health goals - to Eat Better Food Today! A percent of the profits from this Podcast will be put towards erasing child hunger, initially focused on the poorest suburb in America, East Cleveland in Ohio. So join me on this journey, where we'll explore every aspect of living better, living longer, through food, exercise, sleep, community, and purpose. Let's learn together how to begin to Eat Better Food Today! Follow us now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, our Eat Better Food Today website or wherever you enjoy your shows. Gratefully yours, Ken. This Podcast is a production of Sante Strategies, LLC. Sante translated is-Health Means Everything. This is the company I have started to begin this health and longevity journey, focused on food. • I've Gotten So Much More than I Was Able to Give. Grafton Correctional.
      Jan 20 2026
One Hundred and One. Today's episode was recorded and filmed onsite at Grafton on a beautiful Fall sunny day in their garden. This is Part Two of my 10thEpisode, released on a cold winter day. During my visit, I talked with inmates and leaders at the Grafton Correctional Institute, where Hope is provided daily. In 2024, the garden grew and distributed 23,000 pounds of produce. This 100th Episode is in two parts. Part One was with two of the Caretakers. This is Part Two, with Sister Rita Mary and Frank, who talk about starting Prison Ministries in 1996 and how it has grown to 450 volunteers. The volunteers have commented "I volunteered for prison ministry because I wanted to help, I wanted to encourage people. So I'm doing it and I love it." And "I've gotten so much more than I was able to give." One of those Ministries started in 2020 was the Garden Ministry. And if you hear gunshots in the background its because officers were getting the annual certification. #eatbetterfoodtoday #localingredients #longevity #health #foodasmedicine #hope #garden #volunteer Please visit our website https://eatbetterfoodtoday.com for this week's recipe, interviews, books, research, videos. • One Hundred. Hope through Food. No Matter where You Live.
      Jan 15 2026
Ep 100. Today's episode was recorded and filmed onsite at Grafton on a beautiful Fall sunny day in their garden. I wanted this to be my 100th episode so I waited until a snowy winter day to share. During my visit, I talked with inmates and leaders at the Grafton Correctional Institute, where Hope is provided daily. In 2024, the garden grew and distributed 23,000 pounds of produce. This 100th Episode will be in two parts. Part One will be with two of the inmates. For those watching on YouTube, they were not allowed to be filmed. Their closing message, in their own words were "encourage everybody to get out there and give gardening a try. Don't be afraid to mess anything up. Put it in the ground. God will give you everything that you need when it comes to the land. You've just gotta work it." #eatbetterfoodtoday #localingredients #longevity #health #foodasmedicine #localfarmers #hope #garden Please visit our website https://eatbetterfoodtoday.com for this week's recipe, interviews, books, research, videos. • 70% of Our Health is Lifestyle. Regardless of Your Genetics. Lisa Parda
      Nov 26 2025

Ep 99: On this episode we are grateful to have Lisa Parda. Lisa is the Owner of RealtyScape Brokerage and co-host of Lisa and Robyn on the Mic, a live weekly radio show. Food has become Lisa's latest way of exploring connection. Her new cookbook, My Love Language Is Food, isn't about flawless recipes — it's about survival, joy, and the small rituals that keep people going. Lisa draws from her own seasons of struggle: long work hours, the ups and downs of body image, and the lessons of using food both as comfort and as medicine.
