  • Disney California Adventure at 25: The Wild Story Behind the Reimagining
    Mar 2 2026

On Episode 131 of The Dreaming of Disney, we’re taking you inside the D23 25th Anniversary panel for Disney California Adventure and breaking down everything we learned .

From the 1995 Aspen retreat where Michael Eisner and Imagineers dreamed up a second gate… to the budget constraints that shaped the original park… to the mind-blowing logistics of filming Soarin’ Over California… we’re diving deep into how DCA was born.

Then we shift into the reimagining era. How Buena Vista Street transformed the entrance. How Pixar Pier found its identity. The emotional, controversial switch from Tower of Terror to Guardians of the Galaxy. The genius behind Cars Land. And how World of Color almost didn’t happen until Bob Iger asked one simple question: “When can we do this?”

Plus, Audreyann shares why Guardians might just be better than Tower (yes, we said it), and we reflect on how Imagineers honored the past while building the DCA we love today.

If you love park history, Imagineering stories, and behind-the-scenes Disney magic, this one’s for you.

  • 5 Years of California Adventure, Super Bowl Sunday at Disneyland & Our First Character Breakfast
    Feb 23 2026

Tim and Audrey are back with the second half of their Disneyland weekend recap! They kick things off with some Disney news — Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue gets a closure reprieve until 2027, and what that might mean for Avatar Land. Then they dive into their California Adventure day, which happened to fall on the park's 25th anniversary AND Super Bowl Sunday (a combo they did not see coming). From commemorative maps and Animation Academy to a surprise Phineas & Ferb connection with the show's co-creator, the family packed a lot in. Plus: they witnessed the Super Bowl MVP cavalcade on Main Street, had a standout meal at Pym's Test Kitchen, and capped the trip with their very first character breakfast at Storytellers Café — and why they're making it a new tradition. As always, four kids, big feelings, and plenty of Disney magic (and chaos) along the way.I

    Feb 2 2026

  • The Original Trilogy Is Back! Disneyland Finally Unlocks Galaxy’s Edge
    Jan 19 2026

Big Star Wars news just dropped, and Disneyland fans have been waiting years for this. Galaxy’s Edge is officially unlocking its timeline, bringing the Original Trilogy back into the land in a big way. Darth Vader, classic stormtroopers, original-era music, and major atmosphere changes are on the way… and yes, this is a Disneyland-only update (sorry, Disney World).

In this episode of Dreaming of Disney, Tim and Audreyann break down what’s changing, why fans pushed so hard for this, and how Disney is dividing Galaxy’s Edge into different Star Wars eras. We talk characters, music, Smuggler’s Run updates, Star Wars Nite timing, and whether this finally fixes one of the land’s biggest complaints.

If you’ve ever felt like Galaxy’s Edge was missing something… this might be the update you’ve been waiting for.

  • We Cheated on Disney… and It Made Us Love It More
    Jan 13 2026

We finally did it. We went to a non-Disney theme park… and it completely changed how we see Disney.

After a family trip to San Diego and our first-ever visit to SeaWorld, we talk about the good, the confusing, and the expensive. From incredible animal encounters and empty rides to paid lockers, pricey food, and a roller coaster that nearly traumatized Tim, this day gave us a lot to think about.

Then we stopped at Disneyland on the way home and everything snapped into focus. Food prices, quality, crowd control, cast members, and the little details Disney gets right without you even noticing.

We also cover online reactions to our SeaWorld posts, a monorail breakdown evacuation we narrowly avoided, current Disneyland crowd vibes, and how we’re rethinking our last-day Disney tradition to end trips on a happier note.

If you’ve ever wondered whether Disney is really “worth it,” this episode might surprise you.
