You saw Moses and Elijah appear out of thin air, and then, a literal cloud overshadowed you and a booming voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son." If you had seen that with your own eyes, you’d think your faith would be bulletproof for the rest of your life, right? You’d never doubt again. But the man who actually stood on that mountain, the Apostle Peter, has a surprising message for us today. He tells us that as incredible as that "mountaintop experience" was, we actually have something even more reliable.

In the spring of 1521, a lone monk named Martin Luther stood before the most powerful men in the world. He was told to take back everything he had written or face the stake. Most of us would have crumbled under that kind of pressure. But Luther didn’t. He looked them in the eye and said, "My conscience is captive to the Word of God... Here I stand." We might ask ourselves, where do you get that kind of courage? It doesn't come from self-confidence or a "new spiritual experience." In fact, our scripture tells us that it comes from knowing exactly where the Bible originates from. Today, we’re looking at the source of our strength: the source of the Word.

Have you ever seen a "before and after" commercial? Maybe it’s for a cleaning product that removes a permanent stain, or a fitness program that shows a radical physical change. We are naturally drawn to those images because they provide proof. They say, "This works." As an Ambassador for Christ, one of your most powerful tool isn't a clever argument or a memorized speech; it is your "after" photo. It is the fact that you used to crawl, but now you fly. Today, we’re looking at how your transformed life is the very thing that makes the King’s message believable to a watching world.

Imagine you are a soldier in the final days of World War II. You’ve been hunkered down in a frozen trench for months, the air thick with the smell of smoke and the constant, deafening sound of artillery. To you, this war feels like it has no end. But then, across the radio or from a messenger sprinting through the mud, you hear the words: "It’s over. The surrender has been signed." You drop your rifle, not because you lost, but because the victory has been won by someone else, and you are finally invited to come home. That is exactly the position you and I hold today. We aren't here to win an argument; we are here to announce that the peace treaty has already been signed in blood.

Have you ever watched a butterfly land on a flower? It looks like it’s just having a snack, casually drifting through the garden. But that tiny creature is actually a high-stakes delivery driver. As it drinks the nectar, its legs get covered in a fine, yellow powder called pollen. When it flies to the next flower, it drops that powder off, enabling the plant to produce fruit and seeds. Without that "accidental" delivery, the garden would eventually die. In God’s kingdom, you were given wings for the exact same reason. You aren't just a "new creation" so you can look pretty; you were redesigned to be a carrier of life.

Have you ever stopped to think about why the King of the Universe doesn't use lightning bolts to write His messages across the sky? Or why He doesn't send a legion of glorious, terrifying angels to demand the world’s attention? If you were a King, wouldn't you want the most powerful, most impressive diplomats to represent your interests? Yet, the Bible tells us that God has chosen a completely different strategy. He hasn't looked for the most polished or the most perfect; He has chosen the weak things to shame the wise.

Have you ever noticed that a caterpillar and a butterfly live in two completely different worlds, even when they’re standing on the same tree? The caterpillar is obsessed with the leaf, it’s all it can see and all it wants to eat. But once that metamorphosis happens, the butterfly doesn't just get wings; it gets a whole new set of eyes and a completely different appetite. Today, we’re looking at how Christ doesn't just change your destination; He changes your "reality"

Imagine you’re standing in a courtroom. You know you’re guilty. The evidence is stacked against you, and you’re waiting for the hammer to drop. But then, the Judge looks at you and says, "Case dismissed. Not because the crime didn't happen, but because the person who committed it no longer exists."
