Good evening. Delaware. I'm Jack O'Malley. Step outside and you'll feel it. That damp, heavy fog clinging to everything like a wet blanket. We saw a dusting of snow overnight — just a tenth of an inch — and temperatures bottomed out at 40 degrees. Classic early March, where winter and spring keep trading places. In the next 24 hours. In Tonight, a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect statewide until 10 P.M. Visibility could drop to a quarter mile or less, so take it slow on the roads. Rain arrives around 7 P.M. and really ramps up between 9 and 10 tonight. Northern Delaware gets soaked with up to half an inch, while central and southern areas see lighter amounts. Down in Sussex County, it'll feel like 37 degrees by 10 P.M. Even though the thermometer reads 43. But don't get used to the chill. Wednesday brings a break in the rain with highs ranging from 51 in the south to 54 up north. But that's just the opening act. In Here's your heads-up for week ahead, a significant warm-up arrives Thursday and accelerates through the weekend. By Friday, northern Delaware hits 67 degrees. Saturday and Sunday? We're talking upper 60s to near 70 statewide. That's nearly 40 degrees above normal for early March. Showers and a few thunderstorms ride along with that warmth, especially Thursday night and Saturday night.
