This is the final episode of season 1 for Defending the Lion. In this episode we'll talk about the recent Supreme Court decision, McGirt v Oklahoma, and how that has effected Debbie's case almost 40 years after her murder.

In this bonus episode we're talking with former Detective Wes Edens. Wes discusses with us the Reid Method, which is a commonly used interrogation method in the United States.  

In this bonus episode we're talking with court reporter Dawn Teal. Dawn was the court reporter in all of the trials for my cousin Debbie's case. Dawn was also responsible for the court's evidence in this case that span almost 40 years. Ms Teal discusses her first hand account of being a court reporter for may years.

Many times the work of advocating for victims of crime and the wrongfully convicted go hand in hand. But the issue of the death penalty seems to always bring me to a crossroads where only heart break lie ahead.

The subject of Episode 16 is one I’ve dreaded for many months. Some things aren’t easy to talk about. But telling the truth and speaking out against corruption and lies are the only way things are gonna change for the better. 

In episode 15 I discuss how a new documentary being made about Debbie story brought on more than just new questions. It also brought the opportunity to visit her killer in prison. But I plan didn’t goes as expected.
