    The Words of Eternal Life

    John 6:60-71

“Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life”

Here we have disciples, turning away from Jesus and walking no more with him because they could not understand his words. It’s so easy to give up on something or someone if you lack understanding. But Peter had faith in Jesus Christ, and his faith kept him going forward. With the Lord.

Life through the blood and body of Jesus

    John 6:48-59

“As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me”

The Jews had a very difficult time understanding this. Yes, Jesus did give his body and his blood on Calvary for the sins of the whole world. Not that we literally eat of his body and drink of his blood. It’s by faith that we have this new life in Christ.

    The Father's Will

    John 6:37-47

“No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him”

It was the father‘s will to send his son Jesus to this lost and dying world. It is the will of the father for us to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the will of the father that we would be raised up on the last day. God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Thank you, Jehovah God, for sending your son Jesus Christ.

I Am the Bread of Life

    John 6:22-36

“I am that bread of life”

Jesus turned the water into wine, healed the sick, fed the 5000, walked on water 3 1/2 miles, and they still did not believe. Can I say they had a heart and head issue? They were infatuated with Jesus. But did not commit themselves to him. They were unwilling to repent of their sin; they were content with their religion.

    Jesus Walks on Water

    John 6:16-21

“But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid”

The Sea of Galilee is about 8 miles long and 4 miles wide. One furlong is 1/8 of a mile, so there are 8 furlongs in a mile. They rowed about 3 1/2 miles across the Sea of Galilee. A great storm arose, on troubled sea. They saw Jesus walking on the troubled sea. They were afraid, but oh how things changed when Jesus got into their boat. He calmed the sea. Open their eyes and behold, they was almost at the other side. What a good feeling, knowing that land is in sight. Knowing that you’re safe and sound. This is a beautiful story that teaches to trust in Jesus when you’re on troubled seas. Think about it: Jesus walked about 3 1/2 miles on the troubled seas. Praise God.

    Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand

    John 6:1-15

“Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world”

What a beautiful story about the compassion of Jesus Christ. There was a need, and he fulfilled it. How many times has Jesus seen our need and fulfilled it?

    Witnesses to Jesus

    John 5:30-47

Moses witnessed that Jesus was the Son of God. John the Baptist witnessed that Jesus was the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. The Father in heaven said, “This is my beloved Son.” The Holy Scriptures witness that Jesus is the Son of God. The miracles that Jesus did witnessed that he is the Son of God. All the apostles witnessed that he is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Do you?

    The Authority of the Son

    John 5:19-29

“That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father”

Jesus was more than a prophet, more than a good teacher. He is the Son of God. Sent by God. He was hungry, but fed the 5000. He was thirsty, yet gave the woman at the well living water. He was buried, but was raised from the dead. Jesus was not an ordinary man; his name is Emmanuel, God with us.
