  • Seeing Again
    Feb 16 2026

What are your blind spots? Where do you think you see most clearly? This week, Jesus invites us to be honest when we don’t see as clearly as we think, and to stay engaged long enough for our eyes to be fully opened.

  • The Importance of Marginalized Bodies
    Feb 9 2026

Two women of very different social status, both healed and equally valued by Jesus. Join me as we reflect on the ways we deem people more or less worthy of care and compassion in our own society, and how Jesus breaks down those barriers to care for every person as a beloved child of God.

  • Walking in the Way of Peace
    Jan 18 2026

This week is a little different. While I used the story of the Feeding of the 5,000 originally planned for this series, I focus more on the crowds and the way Jesus responded to them with compassion as he and his disciples traveled from town to town.

Alongside this story, I also offer my personal reflections on my experience with the Buddhist monks this weekend on their walk for peace. I invite you to set aside any preconceptions about Buddhism and Christianity and simply hear these stories side by side. Then honestly ask yourself, are you willing to walk in this mutual way of peace?

  • The Role of Caregivers
    Jan 11 2026

In systems that are constantly overwhelmed and unable to meet every need, we still struggle with questions of who is deserving of care, who should be prioritized, who can afford it, and who is put on hold or cut off entirely. Such questions should not be necessary, and they never come with easy answers. But Jesus reminds us that when it comes to caring for basic human needs, there is no stigma, no shame, and no sin that can separate a person from the mercy and love of God. He shows us that healthcare is not a political issue, but a human one, and one that God cares deeply about.

Whose mat is God asking you to carry right now?

And in what ways do you need others to carry you?

  • A Dragon for Christmas
    Dec 28 2025

Through the Advent season we looked at the incarnation as told through the lens of some of the New Testament writers. This week we have one more birth narrative in scripture that is rarely discussed, Revelation 12.

This section John’s vision uses the sign of a woman and a dragon to show that Jesus, who the empire sought to devour both through Herod and later on the cross, was snatched up by God into heaven and won the final victory over sin and death.

Join me in this week’s message as we further unpack this obscure but poignant passage for our times.

  • Fully Human: Joy in Humility
    Dec 15 2025

This Advent, I’m using the book, The Christmas Letters, by Magrey DeVega. Throughout this series, we are looking at what some of the earliest Christian writings had to say about the incarnation and the significance of Jesus coming to earth to dwell among us.

What mattered most to these early Christian communities before the gospel narratives and the nativity stories we know so well today and how might those teachings draw us back to the heart of Advent, Christmas, and the Christian life?

This week - Philippians 2:1-11 - How the Incarnation shows us what it means to be fully human.
