À propos de ce contenu audio

Good evening, folks! I'm Aaron Jolly, and this's the Connecticut Weather Podcast for Friday, February 19th. Here's the deal. A late winter storm is sliding into Connecticut tonight, and it's picking favorites. The eastern half of the state is about to get soaked. The coast? A little less so. Let me walk you through it. Start along the shoreline. You're sitting at 36 degrees with a raw northeast wind at 9 miles an hour. Rain mixed with wet snow is likely later, but accumulations stay light. Tonight dips to the mid 30s. Damp and chilly, but nothing dramatic. Now head inland toward Hartford. Same 36 degrees, but here's where it gets slippery. Rain mixing with wet snow is almost certain. Roads could get greasy by evening, so if you're heading out for dinner, take it slow. Lows tonight settle into the low 30s. Drive east toward Norwich and New London, and you've hit the bullseye. Already 39 degrees with steady east winds pushing in rain that's practically guaranteed. Near certain precipitation all day. Highs barely budge. Tonight stays damp and oddly mild in the upper 30s. If you're near New London, watch for a high tide of 2.7 feet just before midnight. Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Saturday morning the storm clears out and leaves behind a breezy, brighter day. Highs near 40 degrees. Enjoy it, because Sunday turns sharply colder. Highs struggle to hit freezing. Early next week stays chilly but dry. And one bright spot? We gained 2 minutes and 41 seconds of daylight today. Every little bit counts in February. One more thing. If this forecast helped you plan your Friday night, share us with a friend. Word of mouth keeps this thing going. Bundle up if you're heading out. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
