      Ninedotcoffee-

A name you would have heard or come across if you follow Indian coffee championships and competitions. If not let me introduce you to this jack ass of an amazing person.

Jaseem Abbas, a curious mallu who resides in Bengaluru. As the stereotypes go he does work in “tech stuff”, he owns and runs a company that makes money for him, so he can spend a large portion of it on coffee machines.

Yes, he is a home brewer, who got so into coffee, that he started making machines that could be fit into his home machine. (Did I mention he is a geek), his love for coffee and brewing got him into the world of coffee competition. Started with AeroPress competition and then attempting his hand in National Barista Championship in 2021. In his first year of trial, he didn’t even qualify through his first round, because of technical reasons (he didn’t make 3 sets of drinks in 15 mins) but did an amazing job of how much ever he did.

Then he came back the next year and ended up Winning the championship. A home brewer winning a Barista Championship was unheard of, but he did it, and did it how.

      Jul 10 2023
Madhu Agro ! This amazing, mother-daughter Duo ! who are not just planters and now getting into Roasting, they are fierce and borderline crazy daredevils  of life!  Nirmala (75 years) and  her daughter Rajshree take cafe of their Coffee farm in Koraput  in Odhissa, a region that is growing coffee for some time now but only started to get some attention in the recent past. The farm has mostly (if not only) tribal workers helping at the farm. Some of the stories they shared was shocking, beautiful and some hilariously crazy.  Nirmala ji and Rajshree both talk about their incredible journey towards doing what they are doing, its nothing but inspirational. Nirmala ji doesn’t act her age at all, its Scaringly Awesome! Rajshree who has worked in so many different places and different industries to come and join the farm was nothing but daring move.  Together they are amazing duo who are beyond crazy “kind”, dedicated, hands on and just pure awesome people. I was glad I could experience a bit of working with them and knowing them. I wish the best to them always.  Also If you are in coffee (and even if you are not, just listen to this pure bliss-full episode) Their link to Instagram handle : https://www.instagram.com/madhu_agro_plantations/

    • Ep. 36 What will be the biggest change in Coffee industry in the coming year ......?
      Apr 12 2023

Hello everyone, and welcome back, to Season 4 of our Coffee Protocol Podcast. First of all, lots of love to everyone that we are here. Its been a bumpy ride, (but so are all the adventurous rides ).

A lil while ago I had gone to attend this Food & Beverage Expo called as "Ahaar" in Delhi, at Pragati Maidan, apparently the biggest of such sort that happens in India. Coffee is a big deal here, as lot of coffee and roasting machine and coffee equipment suppliers, roasters, consultants and syrup and packaging companies and lot many (associated to running a cafe) come to this Expo.

I thought it would be nice to go meet some of the coffee folks and ask them a very genuine and "super non-original" but important question of what they would think is the biggest change that will take place in the coffee industry.

I got some really interesting answers ( not questionable "interesting" that we use to describe a weird cup of coffee, after the owner asks how the coffee was) but genuinely interesting as these were some opinions that came from the people from the coffee industry.

Please do give your feedback on this... and yes do share your thoughts on what other stories would you be interested in the coming episodes ( while I plan some crazy ones too )

      lots of love
