Client retention is how we stay in business - it’s after we’ve got the client through the front door and they have experienced our work.
Hopefully, they are hooked by this point...
But what’s the extra sauce that is going to keep them coming back for more and become a Regular? It’s more than just a great session with you.
I want to share a story about my favorite massage therapist. Every time she gave a massage, she took mental notes throughout the session of all the “hot spots” in the client’s body and what she believed might be causing them. At the end of the session, she shared with the client her findings using simple language. Based on the client's day to day schedule (do they sit at a desk, do they play a sport), she made an educated guess or hypothesis on what she thought was causing the hot spot. Then she explained how she helped to release the hot spot and then what the client can do at home in order to continue the release.
She took the extra time in each session for client retention work through client education. That extra 5-10 minutes of client focus made sure she had an 85% retention rate.
