  • Chancing My Arm – Episode 6: With Craig Bracefield the Amped Surfer
    Jan 16 2026

Welcome back to Chancing My Arm – the pod with purpose.

In this episode, I’m joined by Craig Bracefield, also known as The Amped Surfer. Craig is at a turning point in his life — following a serious motorbike crash, he’s made the life-changing decision to undergo the amputation of his leg.

We dive deep into his journey: the crash itself, the out-of-body experiences that followed, and how his faith and signs from above have guided and validated this decision. And, of course, we talk about his love of surfing, the waves that keep calling him, and how he’s finding purpose and perspective in the face of extreme challenge.

This is Episode 6 of Chancing My Arm — a story of courage, faith, and the extraordinary ways life can guide us when we truly listen.

  • Episode 5 – Zoe Smith Para Surfer and ISA World Champion
    Jan 9 2026

This week on Chancing My Arm, I’m joined by Zoe Smith – para surfer, competitor, and someone who quietly redefines what resilience really looks like. After a life-changing injury, Zoe didn’t just adapt – she paddled back out. Into cold water, heavy waves, setbacks, and the kind of self-doubt that doesn’t show up on highlight reels. What followed is a story about identity, patience, and finding freedom again in the ocean. We talk about surfing as therapy, learning to trust your body again, and what it means to chase joy rather than limitations. This isn’t just a conversation about sport – it’s about purpose, perspective, and choosing to show up even when the odds shift.

This is Zoe Smith. And this is Chancing My Arm.

Matt talks about how the idea began, the creative process of transforming discarded plastic into meaningful products, and why tackling waste at a local level matters. • Final Chopped: Strength through Vulnerability
    Feb 7 2025

This is the final episode of Chopped: Strength through Vulnerability, although not the last podcast I'm doing - as it's my intention to continue podcasting, but with a new project with a slightly different dynamic.

This final episode is the first half of a conversation I recently had with Steve Gwenin, the founder of the Surfers Life Club and of the Facebook community, Work Less Surf More. Steve titled that chat, Only One Way Back

The second half of the conversation will be available in my new podcast, which I'm calling Purpose. More to come on that...

  • S2CSTV Ep1 - Life after Cancer. A tribute to kneeboarder Kyle Abrahams.
    Jan 30 2024

Guess who's back... In this first episode of the new season I'm joined by rap sensation Eminem who kindly offered to spit some rhymes at the start of this week's offering to kick things off.

In essence this episode is reflection of the last twelve months. I also talk about life after a cancer diagnosis and how it is coming to terms with the treatment and the effects that has on the mind, body and soul. I share the experiences of fellow cancer survivors I've met during the last year. I also pay tribute to kneeboarder Kyle Abrahams who sadly passed away recently.
