À propos de ce contenu audio

Hosted by Dr. Brandon Blue and produced by the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement, at Moffitt Cancer Center, Cancer in Our Community is a podcast that discusses Black health disparities. Why? Because while cancer is a disease that could affect any of us or our loved ones, the Black community is at greater risk. Whether that's through poor diagnosis or treatment, Black people are more likely to develop and die from many cancers. But there are those studying how to close these gaps in health care and ensure that Black patients and those close to them receive the care that they deserve. All rights reserved Science

  • Ms. Delilah Hernandez - The Patient Pioneers
    Feb 28 2026
Cancer treatments come in many forms: surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and more recently immunotherapy. While there are many types of treatment, they all undergo the same important checks to assess effectiveness and safety through clinical trials. But what is a clinical trial? Why should patients participate? And how can patients trust that they are the best option for them? To answer this and more, we spoke with Research Community Health Educator Delilah Hernandez. For further information about clinical trials, check out the Moffitt website: https://www.moffitt.org/clinical-trials-research/clinical-trials/ Learn more about Delilah’s work with Dr. Susan Vadaparampil on the team’s website: https://lab.moffitt.org/crisp/meet-our-team/ or follow her on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/delilah-hernandez-mhs-169a10183/ Learn more about our host Dr. Brandon Blue.
