Hi everyone, I just got off the phone with the Sergeant at the Larimer County Sheriff's Department. He said that he doesn't know the law around Protection Orders (Restraining Orders) and Evictions. He said if I go home, then they can arrest me and charge me with criminal charges.
I live in Pinewood Springs, CO which is right outside of Estes Park where Rocky Mountain National Park lives. I'm the only Black person in my neighborhood and I'm the only Black person to ever live in my neighborhood. I've been targeted by many residents in Pinewood Springs, Estes Park, Lyons, Longmont, Boulder, Louisville, Broomfield, etc. They intentional want me to feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed.
The law states that all eviction proceedings must stop if a protection order/restraining order is in place. Take a listen.
