Growing up, there was one solution to just about everything.

Call my dad.

His name’s Randy. He’s been a farm kid, a Marine, a repo man, a trucker, a bus driver and for as long as I can remember? The person everyone calls when something won’t start, won’t move, or won’t fall into place.

Being everyone’s go-to comes with a lot of interesting stories. The types of stories you don’t mind hearing again and again.

These stories are real. The details, however, may have been adjusted slightly to protect the innocent, the guilty, and the stupid.

We talk through the funny stories, the hard-earned ones, and every episode ends with something practical he knows that many people might not.

I’m recording these for my kid, and for all of his grandchildren, and for anyone who wants to understand how things work, how people figure it out as they go, and why sometimes the best solution is still to make a phone call.
