    Feb 24 2026

The autogenerated AI synopsis of this episode makes it sound so legit, and is obviously a mischaracterization of what we have here:

Join us for a lively conversation exploring societal rules, government regulation, and the importance of basic life skills in a modern world. We delve into topics like alcohol laws, travel experiences, and the nostalgic value of traditional skills, all with humor and insight. In this lively episode, Jonathan and Allison explore a wide range of topics from survival skills and the importance of practical education to art, capitalism, and humorous banter about TV characters. They emphasize the value of learning essential skills, the impact of technology on brain development, and share personal anecdotes about travel and preparedness.

WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM AUSSIE JERRY! He comes in with a great question about skills that technology has replaced and whether we should keep em or move on.

The Sibs learn new things about each other, including feeling about the apocalypse and what the painting Voice of Fire taught them.

The Sibs start off real lowkey but we all know that won't last! Jon institutes a new rule - Allison gets three "wait!"'s an episode; and she immediately uses up all of them.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

*Allison is once again the Ambassador for Red Door Family Shelter (reddoorshelter.ca) for Coldest Night Of The Year (cnoy.org) on February 28th; and is fundraising for this incredible organization.

*Jon is going on tour in Western Canada, and you can find tour dates and tickets at jondore.com He will also be in Cincinnati!

*Leave us a message (written or verbal) at brothersisterpod.com

We get a brief update on Licegate 2.0 and Jon's research, then Jon reveals what his surefire platform would be if he ran for Prime Minister.

WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM SOMEONE TRYING TO SELL US SOMETHING! Allison reads another sales pitch email that she feels is unhinged. Jon immediately halts proceedings and calls for a meeting.

    Meeting notes:

    *discussing episode content before recording

*changing Jon's middle name to Dwindle

*using current events to get into personal stories

*Deepak Chopra is in the Epstein files

The meeting never comes to an official close, as The Sibs get sidetracked by whether or not Jon should let his kid watch violent sports. A very intellectual discussion follows about CTE and how to make sports safer, when disaster strikes- Sister shoots Brother.

(FYI - the NFL Player/Mathematician who's name Allison Couldn't remember is John Urschel)

A technical difficulty alleviates some pressure in a major squabble, but they get right back into arguing about whether or nor shot-putters think putting shots is fun.

    Feb 10 2026

We open with an official announcement about Sister's name, and then Brother begins updating the world on Licegate 2.0 when Patient Zero enters the room.

The Sibs put on their Scientist hats and theorize wildly about how lice operate and if they are getting worse. Squabble #1 comes when Jon doesn't feel Allison is listening. Jon then claims he is going to do extensive research and present his findings in the coming weeks; and reveals the shocking side effect he is experiencing as a result of dealing with an infestation.

Jon's struggles remind Allison of a story she heard recently about an outbreak of Super Chlamydia among billionaires, which sets off another round of Idiots Trying To Be Scientists. Jon is trying to break stigmas and chastises Allison for what he perceives as upholding them. And of course you can't talk about Chlamydia without talking about koalas.

***LEGAL DISCLAIMER*** Nothing these dummies say should be construed as medial advice or scientific certainty.

Allison shared a story about recently controlling her inner Hulk, and 2 stories where she didn't. Jon uses an inspirational quote to help strangers believe in themselves.

    Feb 3 2026

A text from cousin Scott leads Sister to question Brother's string knowledge but also spurs her to update the intro for this week. Plus it leads to our first squabble of the day!

ANDREA LEFT US A MESSAGE! Well, technically 2 messages, one to give some context. While Jon and Allison discuss where the world is at and why context matters, they get side tracked talking about Noah's Ark.

Andrea shares a personal story that she thinks may resonate with Allison, and oh boy does it! A sincere chat follows, then we get into Andrea's question for The Sibs: escape plans! What do people need to know about Canada and where should they go?

Allison talks about Tod Maffin https://todmaffin.com who is helping healthcare professionals relocate to Canada. In a surprising turn, it's not talking politics that causes a squabble, but inaccuracies about the floor plan of the house they grew up in.

The Sibs discover they had been paying attention to different sides of the same comedian, so his current stance is less surprising to one of them.

TIM ROTH LEFT US A MESSAGE! He's gotten a little in his head since his Brother/Sister anthem played, but he also has a question about concerts.

One final squabble about how to define the roles of Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor in the band Blue Rodeo, and it's Sibs out!

    Jan 27 2026

Brother Sister Alert! The squabbling starts right away as The Sibs debate what counts as foley (making sounds for film), when Brother critiques Sister's sound effects, which is were inspired by Brett Gelman.

Jon is in Leftbridge, Alberta telling jokes, and almost made a new friend - but he doesn't need more friends because he has children. Allison tries to see how much of the Lord's prayer she knows, and The Sibs talk about famous prayers and the Law of the Wolf Pack. Nothing like 2 secular idiots talking about religion!

Jon has a big errand to do and is wondering how he can pawn it off on someone else. Allison used to play the double bass, but it's big and dumb and The Sibs talk about which instruments are good, and which are bad.

TIM ROTH SENT US A SONG! Last week was a cliffhanger, as Tim Roth promised a song but couldn't send it. But we have it now and it is a BEAUTY!

The Sibs give listeners a taste, and have a quick squabble about Tim's music influences. Brother tells a story from the previous night that he can sort of remember, Sister checks where Michael Winslow is now, and they wrap up the show and play Tim's whole song.

We're kicking it off with a squabble! Brother attempts to educate on the number 102, and Sister immediately questions him. ***NOTE: Neither sibling realizes during recording that this is actually episode 103.***

Allison and their parents went to a family party, but we don't really have time to get into it because this is a real correspondence episode!

KRIS WROTE US A MESSAGE! Allison is pretty sure she used to work with Kris and after a quick scientific argument, The Sibs get into Kris' imaginary brother and her question: if the US and Canada go to war will it be Brother vs Sister????

PAUL WROTE US A MESSAGE! He's updating us on his situation with his sister, after soft tortillas caused a rift that has potentially led to reconciliation!

TIM ROTH LEFT US A MESSAGE! He claims he has a song to sing for us, but does he?!?! There's a second anonymous message, will it be our tune?

Brother goes on a tangent about #barfart and Sister gets annoyed. They eventually go back to messages.

NATALIE WROTE US A MESSAGE! She challenges The Sibs to imagine a world where they are tasked with producing an international belching competition, and imagine they do. Welcome to Lollapaburpza!

TIM ROTH LEFT US ANOTHER MESSAGE! Is it a song or do we end on a cliffhanger?

  • 102. There's Nothing Good, But We've Got Everything
    Jan 13 2026

Brother educates Sister on the history of Alaska, and the current state of emergency in Juneau. To lighten the mood they try playing an improv game, which quickly goes bad. Then a discussion about snow removal causes a squabble.

Allison had a birthday in between episodes, which naturally leads to The Sibs practising giving eulogies at each other's funerals. Jon gets diagnosed (by Allison) with Oppositional Defiance Disorder and learns what it is, and then reveals classified information.

AUSSIE JERRY WROTE US A MESSAGE! He asks the excellent question: If The Sibs body swapped Freaky Friday style, what lessons would they learn? Jon focuses on what pranks he would do before they switch back.

ANDREA LEFT US A MESSAGE! Andrea was also a latchkey kid and wonders if The Sibs had codes like she did. And though they realized very little consideration was taken for their safety, they also note that they had it pretty good compared to one particular kid.
