      Undertale, by Toby Fox, is one of the greatest indie games ever made, if not THE best. The story is impeccable, the music is unmatched, the characters are memorable, and the whole experience is transcendent . I cannot say enough, go play Undertale right now. Do it now. Leave the podcast running, but go play Undertale.  You might be able to beat it before we're done talking about it.

      Earthbound sits largely as a precursor to modern indie games, not being made by a major studio and leaning heavily on it's quirky, charming nature, while simultaneously innovating on its mechanics and storytelling compared to other similar titles of the time. As an intro to our Season 2 Indie Block, Earthbound gives us an excellent basis from which to start discussing the value of modern indies over AAA properties. Also the game is incredible, but we don't need to tell you that.
