That’s not where it started, though.

Having been in the ocean industry for many years, Nimesh knew all about the black hole of container drayage. 

When a container arrives at a port and until it’s delivered to a distribution center or warehouse, it’s nearly impossible to track.

Nimesh saw customers facing this challenge firsthand, and resolved to do something to help.

Today, BYC’s proprietary platform helps put an end to the drayage black hole and provides more visibility for anyone shipping cargo nationally or internationally. 

While BYC wasn’t the first company to attempt to solve the drayage black hole, it was one of the first to provide a valid, workable solution.

But how? How did BYC differentiate itself enough to provide such a service?

It came down to technology.

The industry as a whole was very fragmented, and Nimesh and his team saw opportunities everywhere: from tracking to communication.

These factors made it impossible for companies to take a proactive approach to their drayage shipping.

BYC, then, developed a platform that made it possible for customers to get necessary information way in advance, which gave them the tools necessary to plan their drayage activities well in advance. 

While it sounds simple, it revolutionized the drayage shipping industry forever. 

Based on the experience BYC had of many years working in the ocean industry, they knew what was broken and where information got lost.

As a result, they were able to pinpoint those issues and integrate them into the system well enough that they could help customers and vendors pinpoint issues and predict capacity. 

To date, BYC has handled more than 150,000 loads in the last four years.
