In 1994, with a country freshly intrigued with the "UFO question" after the airing of the X-Files, Dr. Bob Hieronimus aimed to give listeners a deeper understanding of the phenomenon. Vallee worked as an astronomer, computer scientist, and a pioneer of the modern Internet, including working in the 60s with early artificial intelligence models. Vallee shares his early experiences becoming interested in UFOlogy and his life as a young man working under astronomer J. Allen Hynek’s mentorship.

Dr. Bob interviews Nick Pope, former UFO Officer for the British Ministry of Defense, sometimes referred to as the 'real life Fox Mulder.' In his time as UFO Officer, Pope researched alien abductions, UFO sightings, and crop circles to assess potential threats to national security. He discusses his time in this role, challenges to researching UFO and media cover-ups of evidence for alien activity. Pope passed away in 2026 after spending decades championing the need for serious UFO research, making appearances on the History Channel's Ancient Aliens.
