  • Because THEY said so- Roblox Edition
    Jan 20 2026

In this episode, I sit down with my son and let the conversation flow from a place that matters to him right now: Roblox. We talk about the recent age restrictions placed on the platform, what they mean, and how it actually feels to be 11 years old when rules change and kids don’t always feel heard.

As Miles nerds out on Roblox updates and game mechanics, our conversation naturally expands into something bigger—the phrase “because they said so.” I reflect on where that mindset came from, what it meant to our parents, and how authority was often explained (or not explained) when we were growing up.

We talk through the idea that many parents truly meant well, while others were repeating what they were taught—because it was all they knew at the time. This episode isn’t about blame; it’s about understanding, communication, and making room for kids’ voices alongside parental responsibility.

This episode blends gaming culture, generational reflection, and real-life parent-child dialogue—creating space to question old systems while building healthier conversations moving forward.

  • Episode 1: "Because I Said So... Actually, Let's Talk About It"
    Dec 31 2025

In our very first episode of Because I Said So (Now Google It), we start with the phrase every kid has heard — and every parent has said(Maybe) : “because I said so.”

We talk about what that phrase actually means in our household, how often it shows up, what those words mean to Gen Alpha and whether it’s something my son thinks he’d ever say to his own kids someday. From there, the conversation naturally drifts into generational differences, shared laughs about how Millennials and Gen Alpha see each other, and even a quick moment on the now-everywhere number 67 (yes, that one).

This episode sets the tone for the show: honest, curious, a little funny, and rooted in real conversation. No lectures. No perfect answers. Just a mom and her kid talking through how authority, curiosity, and understanding show up at home — and how those ideas might look different as generations change.

Best suited for ages 10+, with parent discretion encouraged depending on your child’s maturity level.
