“Hey guys, it’s me, Ellie and this is my tiny part of the world a space that represents me and sometimes “us”🤍 Here I pride myself on being honest, down to earth, open, sometimes a bit sweary… but most importantly, unapologetically me. It’s taken me a long time to get here and I nearly at times didn’t , but I made it — just in time for perimenopause (joy 😭). This is a safe, inclusive space for everyone — neurodivergent and non-neurodivergent people, ADHD, autistic and AuDHD minds, men, women, non-binary people, all ages, races, religions, identities, and backgrounds. Whether you’re diagnosed, self-identifying, questioning, struggling, healing, or simply trying to understand yourself better… you are welcome here. Because once upon a time, I needed a space like this — and I felt welcome nowhere. So let’s not recreate that. After years of ADHD masking, autism masking, people pleasing, emotional burnout, and trying to fit into spaces that never fully fit me, I’m now on a journey to better understand myself, my AuDHD brain, and what it really means to live authentically as a neurodivergent woman — whilst training as a therapist, working as a mentor and coach, and occasionally doing motivational speaking. If you’re navigating ADHD, autism, AuDHD, masking, burnout, executive dysfunction, rejection sensitivity, overwhelm, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, or the emotional reality of being neurodivergent in a world that doesn’t always understand you — you’re welcome here. We also sometimes touch on trauma, healing, relationships, identity, mental health, and nervous system overwhelm… because a problem shared is a problem halved and all that and I’ve had an exciting life (ffs) AuDHD and then some is a neurodivergent mental health podcast hosted by Ellie, exploring the real and often unspoken side of ADHD, autism, and late-diagnosed AuDHD. Expect honest conversations, relatable reflections, and practical insights around: • ADHD and autism (AuDHD) • Neurodivergent identity and unmasking • Executive dysfunction and autistic burnout • Emotional regulation and nervous system overwhelm • Rejection sensitivity and people pleasing • ADHD in women and high-masking autism • Late diagnosis grief and self-acceptance This isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about understanding your brain, softening the noise, and feeling a little less alone. ✨ More resources, bonus content and community: audhdandthensome.com audhdandthensome.com/audhdmembership patreon.com/AuDHDandThenSome”Ellie AuDHD of AuDHD and then some. • Fictional Characters That Raised Us | Neurodivergence, Maladaptive Daydreaming & Emotional Survival
    May 20 2026

    I was rudely interrupted at the end by work but….Some neurodivergent kids escaped into fictional worlds because reality felt too overwhelming, lonely, confusing, or unsafe. In this deeply relatable (and slightly emotionally devastating) episode of AudioHD and Then Some, Ellie talks about fictional character attachments, maladaptive daydreaming, hyperfixations, parasocial relationships, autism, ADHD, AuDHD, loneliness, trauma coping mechanisms, and the imaginary worlds that helped so many of us survive childhood.

    From creating entire cinematic universes in our heads to emotionally depending on fictional characters more than real people, this episode explores the humour, grief, creativity, and survival behind neurodivergent escapism.

    If you’ve ever felt “too attached” to fictional characters, lived inside your imagination, paced around daydreaming for hours, or used stories as emotional safety — you are absolutely not alone.

    “If this episode emotionally destroyed you even slightly, please rate the podcast five stars because apparently healing is expensive.”

  • Why ADHD Brains Are More Susceptible To Addiction | Dopamine, Impulsivity & ADHD Explained
    May 19 2026

    In this episode, I’m talking honestly about the connection between ADHD, dopamine, impulsivity, addictive behaviours, emotional regulation, and why neurodivergent people can sometimes be more vulnerable to things like spending addictions, substance use, binge behaviours, hyperfixation cycles, compulsive habits, scrolling, gambling, emotional dependency, and dopamine-seeking patterns.

    This is NOT about judgement or shame.

    It’s about understanding WHY ADHD brains often search for stimulation, novelty, relief, escapism, comfort, or quick dopamine hits — especially when living in burnout, overwhelm, trauma, masking, stress, emotional dysregulation, or nervous system exhaustion.

    I’ll be discussing:

    ✨ dopamine & ADHD brains

    ✨ impulsivity and reward-seeking

    ✨ emotional regulation & addiction vulnerability

    ✨ ADHD burnout and compulsive behaviours

    ✨ the science behind dopamine-seeking

    ✨ why shame often makes the cycle worse

    ✨ why addiction doesn’t always “look obvious”

    ✨ how understimulation and overwhelm affect neurodivergent brains

    This episode is for anyone who has ever wondered:

    “Why do I get obsessed with things?”

    “Why do I struggle with moderation?”

    “Why do I constantly chase dopamine?”

    “Why do I spiral into impulsive behaviour when overwhelmed?”

    Over on Patreon, I go much deeper and more personally into some of these themes in a more vulnerable and private space for those who relate to this topic on a deeper level 💜

    Topics include:

    ADHD, AuDHD, dopamine, addiction, impulsivity, executive dysfunction, emotional dysregulation, burnout, compulsive behaviour, neurodivergence, ADHD burnout, binge behaviours, dopamine seeking, trauma, masking, overstimulation, and nervous system regulation.

  • Why ADHD Meds Made My Autism Traits Louder (AuDHD Experience)
    May 18 2026

    In this episode of AuDHD And Then Some, Ellie talks honestly about the strange experience of feeling “more autistic” after starting ADHD medication.

    From sensory overload and masking exhaustion to social burnout, rigid routines, and suddenly hearing every background noise known to mankind… this episode explores what happens when ADHD chaos quiets down and autistic traits become impossible to ignore.

    If you’re AuDHD, late diagnosed, or have ever felt confused by how medication changed your brain, this episode will probably feel very familiar.

    We discuss:

    * ADHD medication & autism unmasking

    * sensory overwhelm

    * masking and social exhaustion

    * late diagnosis & self-understanding

    * the difference between ADHD chaos and autistic overwhelm

    * why so many AuDHD people relate to this experience

    Raw, funny, honest conversations for neurodivergent minds trying to understand themselves a little better. 💜
