À propos de ce contenu audio
If you've ever doubted the healing power of art, listen to this. You will never doubt again.
(Before we start, sensitive listeners need to know that for context, this episode refers to bereavement and grieving. If you're ok with that, carry on!)
Welcome to Art Is Good For You! It's my new podcast spreading the message that making and experiencing art helps with healing and happiness, no matter who you are.
I'm Rachel Duffield, an inspirational art teacher and art life coach and the founder of Community Art Clubs CIC. It's my belief that even if art isn't up front and centre in your life, it can still have a big impact, sometimes in unexpected ways! So I'm inviting people from all walks of life - some arty, some not - to chat with me about the three pieces of art in their life that have turned out to me memorable, special or even life-saving.
My fourth guest is librarian Donna Holmes, who movingly and eloquently describes the ways that art has always been her lifeboat, carrying her to recovery following two close family bereavements.
Donna would like everyone to know about this charity: www.widowedandyoung.org.uk.
