Good afternoon. Arizona. I'm Aaron Jolly. Eighty-two degrees and not a cloud in sight. That's the scene right now across the desert. We're running about 20 degrees above normal for early March. And today shapes up as the warmest day of the week. So Central Arizona climbs to 84 degrees this afternoon under brilliant sunshine. Down in Southern Arizona. Tucson and surrounding areas hit 83. But head north to the high country and it's a different world — Flagstaff tops out at 60 degrees with gusts to 25 miles an hour this afternoon. In the next 24 hours. Tonight, that full moon will have plenty of company. Skies stay mostly clear statewide. Lows dip to 54 in the Valley, 48 down south. And a crisp 30 degrees up north. Early risers in Flagstaff tomorrow morning will feel wind chills around 22 degrees. Thursday brings our next weather maker. A system dropping down from the Pacific Northwest kicks up winds and knocks temperatures back. The Valley falls to 79 degrees. Southern Arizona sees gusts to 30 miles an hour. And that combination of wind and dry air triggers a Red Flag Warning from 1 to 8 P.M. For Cochise and Santa Cruz counties. Northern Arizona gets the brunt of the wind — gusts to 45 miles an hour east of Flagstaff, with a Wind Advisory in effect. Friday is our coolest day. Phoenix only reaches 73. Then we rebound into the 80s this weekend. But here's the twist. Sunday into Monday, a slow-moving low off Baja could bring our first real rain chances in weeks. Nothing heavy, but something to watch. In Sunrise at 6, 54, sunset at 6:28. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox sits just two weeks away.
