Good evening. Arizona. I'm Aaron Jolly. Arizona is basking under a ridge of high pressure tonight. And folks, it feels like a gift. Warm, quiet, not a cloud in sight. Enjoy it. Because Thursday has other plans. In the next 24 hours. Right now you're sitting at 76 degrees under crystal clear skies. Step outside and that full moon is going to light up the desert like a spotlight. Central Arizona hit 85 degrees today. Tucson wasn't far behind at 84. But drive north to Flagstaff and it's a completely different story. They started the morning at 27 degrees and only climbed to 62. That's a 23 degrees gap between the Valley and the high country. Tonight the Valley cools to around 57 degrees. Tucson dips to 49. Flagstaff drops right back to 27. Leave a window cracked if you're down south. Grab the extra blanket if you're up north. Now here's where it gets interesting. Thursday, a cold front barrels through with southwest winds gusting 20 to 30 miles an hour across the state. Northern Arizona could see gusts hitting 40 miles an hour. Temperatures drop 20 degrees to 20 degrees everywhere. No real rain though. Just wind reminding you March still has teeth. Friday calms down. Phoenix settles near 74 degrees. Tucson 71. Flagstaff a chilly 46. Then the weekend? Gorgeous. High pressure slides back in. Valley highs bounce into the low 80s Saturday, mid 80s Sunday. Perfect for a hike up Camelback or a round of golf. We're gaining about two minutes of daylight each day now, with sunset at 6:27 this evening. Early next week, a cut off low near Baja could sneak in slight rain chances Monday. Worth watching.
