Anyway, Back to the Point is a funny, honest midlife podcast about masking, coping, people-pleasing, burnout and the things we thought were “just us”. Hosted by Lara and Emma, it’s a space for lived experience, big lightbulb moments and the kind of conversations women often have in private. We talk midlife, identity, possible neurodivergence, menopause, anxiety, friendship, work, family, unmasking and the relief of finally joining the dots. Expect humour, honesty, tangents, swearing and the occasional “anyway, back to the point…”Lara Greenway and Emma Peel Sciences sociales

Welcome to the first episode of Anyway, Back to the Point — a funny, honest midlife podcast for women whose coping strategies have stopped coping.

In this episode, Lara and Emma introduce the podcast, themselves and the big question behind it all: why has everything felt so bloody hard?

We talk about midlife, masking, motherhood, perimenopause, creativity, over-functioning, late-realised ADHD/AuDHD traits and the strange relief of looking back at your life and thinking… hang on, that might explain a lot.

We’re not doctors and we’re not here to diagnose anyone. We’re sharing lived experience, honest conversation and the occasional scenic route.

If you’ve ever wondered why you feel exhausted, overwhelmed, too much, not enough, wildly capable and completely frazzled all at once — this one’s for you.

    About us:

Lara is in her early 50s, a single mum, production consultant, author and owner of Begin Again, an artisan home fragrance brand. After years of juggling parenting, creative work, wellbeing, business and life’s chaos, she began wondering whether the “depression” she had known since her mid-20s was the whole story. When her son left for university, she finally had space to recognise patterns and explore ADHD/AuDHD.

Emma is in her late 40s, a mum, artist and former public-sector worker who spent years feeling misunderstood, overthinking, coping and trying to fit systems that never quite fit. After homeschooling her children, travelling with them and navigating depression, stress, illness and perimenopause, she began reframing her life through probable female ADHD.

Expect humour, honesty, swearing, tangents and occasional attempts to get back to the point.
