Mike Dunleavy, R-Alaska, vetoed a long-fought for bill providing pensions for state employees Monday with days left in the session after a hail mary play to pass property tax exemptions for the proposed natural gas line stalled. The state medical examiner has ruled that a 19-year-old woman from Shaktoolik who went missing in Anchorage in January and was found in April died of hypothermia with alcohol intoxication and extreme cold as contributing factors.
