Good evening. Alabama. I'm Aaron Jolly. Folks, 69 degrees right now. In early March. High pressure parked off the East Coast is funneling warm Gulf air straight up through Alabama like a conveyor belt. The equinox is still two weeks out. And we're already tasting summer. In the next 24 hours. Tonight stays gentle. Central Alabama drifts down to 56 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Northern Alabama holds at 57. Down along the coast, fog rolls in after 9 P.M. As temps settle near 58 degrees. That Gulf moisture just hangs in the air like a warm blanket. Wednesday? That's when things get interesting. Central Alabama pushes to 81 degrees by mid afternoon. Birmingham might feel like late May. Northern Alabama reaches 79 with a lazy south breeze around 6 miles an hour. The coast starts foggy, but sunshine burns through by noon. Then you're looking at 79 degrees and blue sky. Wednesday night barely cools off. Lows stay between 59 and 61 statewide. Now the week ahead tells a real story. Thursday and Friday keep the heat cranked. Low 80s both days, flirting with records in Birmingham and Montgomery. But Friday afternoon, rain starts creeping in. A stalled front sets up shop over the state. And Saturday and Sunday turn soggy. Showers and thunderstorms look likely both days. So if you've got outdoor plans this weekend, maybe start making backup arrangements. One more thing worth stepping outside for tonight. That full moon should be gorgeous if the clouds cooperate. And we're gaining over two minutes of daylight every day now. Sunrise hits at 6:14 A.M. Sunset stretches to 5:46 P.M. Spring is knocking. Charge up that phone and check on those rain boots before the weekend. You'll need them. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
