Through theyears, Muslims in America celebrate their holy month with family and friends,in community gatherings under tents, in restaurants, and in mosques. Muslims inAmerica celebrated the holy month of Ramadan in Times Square in New York. , aRamadan Muslim parade in New York, a city that is associated with the terroristattacks of 9/11. Thousands of Muslims descended on the iconic New York Squareto celebrate their Ramadan tradition. They prayed the "Taraweeh"Ramadan long evening prayer, surrounded by the flashy, gigantic Madison Avenuevoluptuous billboard ads. In the last two years, Ramadan, however, has comeunder a cloud of the slaughtering of brothers in Gaza; the Israeli genocide wastoo much to bear. Until today, and under a one-sided ceasefire, the people ofGaza have been enduring constant bombing, ethnic cleansing, massacres, disease,hunger, and starvation masterminded by the Israeli army and its Western allies,providing the weapons, ammunition, and political coverage. The people of Gazaare trapped between apartheid Zionist ideology and the IDF extremism, determinedto destroy the livelihood of the Palestinians as they have been doing for over70 years, a Western world that is an accomplice to the slaughtering ofPalestinians, and an Arab world that is sitting on the sidelines waiting forthe Israeli to finish the job.
