Divisha Mandal is a 13-year-old entrepreneur and animal advocate who founded Bow-Bow Ties at just nine years old. What began as a small business selling pet bow ties has grown into a mission of compassion — with 50% of her proceeds donated to animals in need. To date, Divisha has donated over $7,500, supported 18 animal shelters, and provided 206 pounds of pet food to homeless families with pets.
Her dedication has earned national recognition, including honors from the White House, Youth Service America’s Everyday Young Hero award, Jackson’s Everyday Superhero award, and Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Project Grant — which she used to microchip over 60 dogs for low-income families.
In this episode, Divisha shares how a simple idea grew into a movement, why she believes change begins with collaboration, and how young people can turn empathy into action. Beyond her advocacy, Divisha is also a gymnast and plays the saxophone in her school band — proving that passion and purpose can go hand in hand.
Tune in for a story of heart, hustle, and hope — and discover how one young founder is tailoring change, one bow tie at a time.
