Terrestrial ecosystems within the Sub-Saharan belt are not an exemption from discussions of how richly biodiverse the continent is endowed. Uganda, not only one of the most biodiverse around the World, but also within the continent contains up to 17% of its total land mass under terrestrial protected area cover.

Irene Kananura takes us through the factual realities with the livelihoods around the landscapes that contain these protected and conserved area ecosystems.

The third episode of the season explores the dynamics of protected and conserved area conservation efforts from a vast Savannah landscape in Sub-Saharan Africa, the lived experiences of an Knowledge Vingi, an Ecologist from Zimbabwe.

The second episode delves into the experiences of protected and conserved area co-management from a socio-economic lens. Eva Shitaatala brings forth her experiences from Marine and Freshwater Conservation in Namibia.

The first Episode of the a just Natural Africa brings forth the experiences and perspectives from Zacharia Muteti Mutinda, a Wildlife Researcher from Eastern Kenya whose work has straddled across mitigating the human-elephant conflict as well as other aspects of biodiversity/nature conservation.
