  • 91. Around the Horn on Jalen Brunson, Nolan McLean, and Carson Benge
    Mar 3 2026

Let's face, this time of the year is tough for sports chatter. So, we figured we'd do something a little bit different: we each came to the table with a topic of our own.

LeeJay discussed Jalen Brunson and the Knicks, Erik talked about how Mets fans need to chill about anointing Nolan McLean the next best thing, and Will believes the Mets should start Carson Benge in right field to start the season.

Of course, we also have a lot of shenanigans in this particular episode as we criticize pizza and bagels made in Boston, high Knicks ticket prices, and a bunch of other things.

And finally, LeeJay has Will and Erik field a starting lineup that would be capable of winning the World Series.

    Please enjoy!

  • 90. Adam Silver vs Tanking: NBA Draft Reform Ideas + Knicks Post All-Star Recap
    Feb 24 2026

The NBA Draft has turned the NBA regular season into a “race to the bottom” and the league finally looks ready to do something about it.

In Episode 90 of Two Dummies That Just Watch, Will and LeeJay dig into the NBA Draft 2026 / tanking problem, why it’s gotten so blatant (hello, Nets), and what changes could actually fix it. We react to Adam Silver’s frustration and the league’s latest signals that a crackdown is coming.

Sticking to the NBA, we also check in on how the Knicks are doing post All-Star break. LeeJay is frustrated with the current state of Knicks analysis.

Our halftime topic is a bit out-of-this-world...

On the other side of the break, we chat about the U.S. men's hockey team and the Mets.

To finish the episode, we get into the top 5 worst trades, signings, etc., for the teams we root for.

  • 89. Mets & Yankees 2026 Spring Training Preview
    Feb 17 2026

Can you believe the Mets and Yankees play baseball this weekend?! It's that time of the year again as New York's baseball teams are in Florida preparing for the 2026 season.

Believe it or not, the Mets and the Yankees do have a lot of similarities heading into Opening Day next month. There are question marks surrounding both pitching staff, whether it's the starters or relievers. There's also a tremendous amount of pressure on both teams to go on playoff runs.

For the Mets, can the new faces elevate this team to the next level. For the Yankees, can they rely on the same faces to bring them back to the top of the American League?

Larry Fleisher joins us this week for the Yankees segment.

  • 88. Fly Seahawks Fly: Seattle Wins Super Bowl 60
    Feb 10 2026

The NFL season is officially in the books, and Super Bowl 60 is in the rearview mirror. This week on Two Dummies That Just Watch, Will Hernandez and Erik Pimentel recap the big game from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, where the Seattle Seahawks handled the New England Patriots and secured their second Super Bowl title in franchise history. It wasn’t a classic, but it still gave us plenty to chat about—what worked, what didn’t, and what it means heading into next season.

From there, the Dummies hit the NBA trade deadline, where the New York Knicks made a sneaky-good move by landing Jose Alvarado, the Brooklyn native finally suiting up for the team he grew up rooting for. Plus: what’s going on with the Brooklyn Nets, and the messy situation surrounding the decision to move on from Cam Thomas.

At halftime, Will and Erik switch gears into real-life talk: why suburban public transportation options can be so brutal.

On the back half, it’s hoops and nostalgia with St. John’s basketball and the college teams they’ve stuck with through the years. Then it’s Mets Spring Training time—complete with the Dummies’ all-time Mets lineup. And because it’s a Will-and-Erik episode, you already know it ends in wrestling: a pro wrestling Mt. Rushmore for the most memorable jobbers/enhancement talent.

  • 87. In Defense of Bill Belichick
    Feb 3 2026

On this episode of Two Dummies That Just Watch, we kick things off with the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame voting controversy — and how the process may have kept Bill Belichick out on the first ballot (including the “80% / 40-of-50 selectors” detail and why the Hall put out a warning about leaks). We also get into the Eli Manning debate and what “first ballot” really means in the NFL context.

From there, we shift to Super Bowl 60 with preview of the New England Patriots vs. the Seattle Seahawks — including the Vegas line, over/under, and our picks

And because it’s Super Bowl week, we close with a super-fun Mt. Rushmore of memorable Super Bowls, hitting everything from the Super Bowl LI comeback to Super Bowl XLVI, plus classic moments like the blackout game and the John Elway “helicopter” play.

  • 86. Las Vegas Loves the Mets, But Why?
    Jan 27 2026

The Mets’ offseason picture finally comes into focus heading into Port St. Lucie: Bo Bichette arrives, the Mets land a true top-of-the-rotation starter by trading for Freddy Peralta, and we run through the rest of the additions (Devin Williams, Luis Robert Jr., Marcus Semien, Jorge Polanco, Luke Weaver, Luis Garcia, Vidal Bruján, Craig Kimbrel) while reacting to one big headline: Vegas now has the Mets favored to win the NL East, as well as a top favorite to win the World Series.

Then LeeJay drops the barometer for the entire season: with moves like this, it’s not “win the division”… it’s World Series or bust.

We also hit Mets nostalgia (including the never-ending Beltrán strikeout discourse and what cap he’d wear in Cooperstown), then pivot to New York football with the Jets picking #2 and the Giants #5, and wrap with the Knicks—why the KAT/Giannis rumors won’t die, what The Athletic is saying, and what a real blockbuster would cost.

  • 85. The John Harbaugh Era Begins in New York
    Jan 20 2026

It’s official: John Harbaugh is the new head coach of the New York Giants.
Harbaugh and the Giants reportedly agreed to a 5-year deal worth $20M per year, and the biggest headline isn’t the money — it’s the power structure.

We dig into Ian O’Connor’s detailed reporting from The Athletic on how this got done, including the behind-the-scenes maneuvering from the Mara family, why Harbaugh demanded clarity on who he reports to (spoiler: John Mara), and what it means for the Giants’ entire operation moving forward.

Then we spin around the NFL as the coaching carousel continues — Kevin Stefanski to Atlanta, and the Bills stunningly firing Sean McDermott after nine seasons and one of the best win totals in the league over that span.

We also break down Divisional Round Weekend and repick our Conference Champions + Super Bowl winner based on who’s left.

On the baseball side, the Mets miss out on Kyle Tucker, but pivot to signing Bo Bichette. So… is this a win, a panic move, or both? We hit the pros/cons, what it means for run prevention, and why a MLB lockout feels inevitable at this point.

Plus: Chris Drury’s letter to Rangers fans (why do teams keep doing this?) and a Mt. Rushmore of Super Bowl foods to close it out.

  • 84. The Small Market Mets
    Jan 13 2026

Pitchers & catchers are less than 30 days away from reporting, but the Mets’ 2026 roster still feels unfinished. The 2 Dummies break down what’s left to fix, what big-name free agents are still out there, and whether the national perception of the Mets matches reality outside NYC.

On the hardwood, as we approach the NBA midseason mark and ask: Is it time for the Nets to go get a superstar — and is Ja Morant that guy? Plus, the Knicks’ recent skid (and why Karl-Anthony Towns isn’t the villain).

    Also in this episode:

    • Halftime check-in: Will’s Vitamin D deficiency (yeah… we went there)
    • Recapping a great NFL Wild Card weekend
    • Giants head coach search: why John Harbaugh is the favorite, and if he’s actually the answer
