À propos de ce contenu audio
My good friend and mentor the architect Tony Gwilliams (born Dec. 12, 1939) passed away Oct. 2, 2022. As I didn't have an opportunity to interview him for this channel, I'm grateful that SpaceAvailable.tv shared the video interview they did with him in the summer of 2022 for me to post here. See their YouTube channel for their other videos: / @uctvjz9ibuxhhf7tk598rnaw I met Tony in 1986 when I was traveling out west after graduating from Parsons School of Design. I was considering attending SCIArc (Southern California Institute of Architecture) to get a Masters of Architecture as they had a Future Architecture program headed up their founder Glen Small and Tony was one of the professors there. Tony had worked closely with Buckminster Fuller in the 1960's and was a professor at the AA school of Architecture in London before moving to California in the 70's to teach at SCIArc. I met Tony at his house in Ojai where he was very hospitable and we developed a lifelong friendship. Ironically he advised me to not bother spending my time and money attending SCIArc to get a Masters of Architecture and instead to just persue my own interests. I visited him many times over the years. He ended up living most of the time in Bali where he developed these two building projects: Tony's T Houses near Ubud https://escapebali.com/about/communit... and the Bloo Lagoon Eco Village Resort in Padangbai https://bloolagoon.com/ He invited me there as his guest twice, in 2009 for the grand opening and in 2012. I hope you enjoy and are inspired by this interview conducted at Bloo Lagoon shortly before his passing. You can find out more about my work and order my book here: https://portaltothenewearth.com
