À propos de ce contenu audio
I struggled with the concept of forgiveness. I used to think that forgiving was about others—how can I ever forgive someone who hurt me? h=How do I even think about letting go of the past? And how do I move forward and move on from my past? Even though I feel like these aspects are essential, I realized that the most challenging and transformative journey was learning to forgive myself.
Forgiveness is not easy. You need to realize that it’s not about others but it’s how you perceive the situation and/or the person, and that takes a lot of gratitude practices, prayers, solitude, and talking to friends and/or family who can truly hold space for you. At its core, forgiveness is about liberation. It’s about releasing the heavy burden of guilt, regret, and resentment that weighs us down. When we think about forgiveness, we often imagine it as an act towards others. But what happens when the person we need to forgive is ourselves?
