Dave Winner joins Hoppo in the beach shack to talk about his incredible journey of resilience.
Dave has long been a respected figure in the Coalcliff SLSC and Surf Life Saving Illawarra. On a seemingly normal day out in the water back in August 2021, he was doing what he's done countless times when he suddenly encountered a wave that knocked him unconscious and submerged him underwater for more than three minutes. He broke his neck in the accident, which left him a partial quadriplegic and If it wasn't for the CPR administered to Dave from bystanders, he wouldn't be here today.
Alongside Dave's extraordinary journey of recovery he created The Dave Winner Foundation which aims to to create free programs and training for CPR for all Australians.
