Join hosts Caligula Q. Strawman and K-Slick as they review Cobalt Core, a roguelike deck buidling adventure! Cobalt Core was developed by Rocket Rat Games, and published by Brace Yourself Games. It was released on the Nintendo Switch, as well as Windows, on November 8th, 2023.
In this cute, yet cerebral, sci fi card game you'll select three out of eight possible crew members, board one of several ships, and battle your way out of a time loop. Battles take place on a single axis, with the player playing cards to move the ship, apply shields, or fire cannons among other things. The gang praised the writing, dark mode aesthetic, unique game play, and various build options.
Cobalt Core scored a 7.5/10, and both hosts would recommend the game to all players.
