Many Creationist believe, the catastrophic breaking apart of the Earth's crust cause the shaping of the continents and completely changed the earth and its atmosphere. This is what ancient historians recorded as, the flood event. They believe this event not only killed the dinosaurs, but killed everything else we see in the fossil record. The flood caused the earth to go from an atmosphere with giant animals and plants, to more like what we see today, and can not only explain the fossil records, but account for all the anomalies in the geological strata that we currently have with deep time evolution, as well as discrepancies in radiometric and other dating methods.
