War and Peace (Russian Война и мир, Voyna i mir) is a monumental epic by Leo Tolstoy, originally published between 1865 and 1869 in Russki Vestnik. This remarkable novel delves into the intricacies of Russian society during the Napoleonic Era and is often regarded as one of Tolstoys two major masterpieces, alongside Anna Karenina. Celebrated as one of the greatest novels of all time, War and Peace presents a vast tapestry of characters intertwined in a narrative that explores grand themes of conflict, love, aging, and marital dynamics.
