Hello listeners! Welcome to the Historical Motion Picture Organisation, a podcast in which I imagine ancient history in the manner of fictional, HBO style productions.
This is the first of an eight part series about the life of King Mithridates VI, ruler of the Kingdom of Pontus, and the decades long struggle he lead against the Roman Republic.
In our first episode, we learn about the Hellenistic-Persian world that Mithridates was born into and how the great polities of Classical Antiquity, such as the Achaemenid and Macedonian empires, influenced the very Near East that our future protagonist wishes to save from Roman enslavement.
