The single most important question that all involved in youth soccer must ask, is which is more important, the development of the player or the desire to win? Simple in words, but in truth the single biggest factor in success or failure of relationships and development within the youth soccer experience. I want to share with you the knowledge I have accumulated over the last fifty years being involved in youth soccer as a player and coach.
There are many misconceptions in youth soccer development, today's talent is tomorrow's superstar, today's recreation player cannot be a superstar, winning today is a path to college scholarships, paying high club fees can bring success, a coach can properly develop more than one team at the time, to name a few. Knowledge is power and I offer knowledge; the question is do you want the power?
