A strong fourth book!
The War of Two Queens is the fourth book of the Blood and Ash series and should probably be read after the first book of the spin-off series, A Shadow in Ember. I will not say anything more or try
to summarize this because it would spoil the previous books especially since book 3 ended with a cliffhanger.
I'm gonna be honest here. I didn't really want to read this, I had to make myself start it. And, yes, I enjoyed it overall but it was too long, which was why I had trouble starting it actually.
Look, I couldn't tell you what to cut out of the story after having read it, but it's justy very hard for me to get through book this long.
Besides that, I did enjoy this. I feel like that was a good continuation of the series, with twists and turns I didn't expect, but, also things I was expecting for some time now, that finally came to be.
Quite a lot of things took me by surprise actually, and some of the things I thought I had figured out turned out to be very wrong, which I found compelling and kept me interested.
I liked the overall plot too, I really did enjoy this journey for our characters, and I liked seeing their relationships grow and evolve.
I had quite a lot of fun with all the talk of Seraphina and Nyktos and it made me look forward to the second book in the spinoff series even more. I'm truly so curious about how all of this came to be.
If you like steamy books, you should like this one, cause it was pretty damn steamy, as in there was quite a lot of sex scenes. (I actually wondered time and time again, how they could even have sex so damn much but I'm ace sooooooooooo...)
I also enjoyed the dual point of view, I liked seeing glimpses of Casteel's thoughts, and that the main point of view was still Poppy's.
Anyway, this was long but really enjoyable and I'll be waiting impatiently from more by Jen.

Disappointed
I skipped so many chapters too much details for nothing I’m so disappointed the pacing is horrible also too much sex scenes anyway would not recommend
