    Description

    Brought to you by Penguin.

The second novel in the record-breaking, million-copy best-selling Thursday Murder Club series by Richard Osman.

Narrated by Lesley Manville, soon-to-be star of The Crown, and featuring an exclusive interview between Richard Osman and Lesley Manville.

The second novel in the record-breaking, million-copy best-selling Thursday Murder Club series by Richard Osman.

    It's the following Thursday.

Elizabeth has received a letter from an old colleague, a man with whom she has a long history. He's made a big mistake, and he needs her help. His story involves stolen diamonds, a violent mobster and a very real threat to his life.

As bodies start piling up, Elizabeth enlists Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron in the hunt for a ruthless murderer. And if they find the diamonds, too? Well, wouldn't that be a bonus?

But this time, they are up against an enemy who wouldn't bat an eyelid at knocking off four septuagenarians. Can the Thursday Murder Club find the killer (and the diamonds) before the killer finds them?

    It's got it all!

I LOVE this series! This group of "troisieme ages" detectives are hilarious, touching, intrepid and so delightful! Every element for a great story is present - emotion, horror, fun and so much laughter! Can't wait for the next one! Also, brava to the reader! She's FAB!

    Absolutely brilliant... again

Full of unexpected twists and surprises. The lovable senior citizens from Coopers Chase are once again off on endless adventures to solve other mysteries. An excellent performance by the narrator who gives each character a unique voice. Highly recommended !

    Enid Blyton for adults

I love a good mystery, especially when solved by a charming group of characters I can really invest in. Beautifully written, masterfully narrated, completely entertaining and I can't wait for the next one!

    "That's what mates do."

Ibrahim decides to throw caution to the wind and start living life to the full; so after a very pleasant three hour visit to a book shop, returning to his car he is struck down and kicked by an hooded youth on a bicycle stealing his mobile phone. His friends from the Thursday Murder Club, Ron, Joyce and Elizabeth, together with Chris and Donna from the local police, are determined to see justice done. An ex husband of Elizabeth is also in trouble and asks for her help and Joyce decides she wants a dog. It's going to be an exciting few days for the four not-so-young friends.

Endearing, exciting and totally foolish, leaving a few dead bodies along the way, this is a fun, entangled mystery amusingly written by Richard Osman and beautifully read by Lesley Manville (once the playback speed is increased to 1.3). A bonus interview between author and narrator follows the story.
Recommended to anyone looking for a gently light hearted crime story.

Wow! You simply HAVE to listen!

Not exactly a sequel to ‘Thursday Murder Club’ but more a continuation of characters. The writing is absolutely sublime, and when you combine this with Lesley Manville’s narration you have perfection. Richard Osman writes for his characters with true depth of feeling so that they really have gravitas within the story threads. Lesley Manville gives life to them with her voice, and her expression of the characters fits hand in glove with the author. This is a pairing made in Audiobook heaven!!!
The plot line has many twists and turns and I love the unexpected and clandestine antics of a group of lovable pensioners. Bring on the next book please!!!!!!

A mystery with a difference and unexpected chapter conclusions. I thoroughly enjoyed it and Leslie's reading thereof was a perfect match.

    Another winner from Richard Osman!

Just as good as the first in the series and well deserving of repeated listens. Beautifully drawn characters, wonderfully narrated and at times tense, touching and very funny. Can’t wait for the third novel.

    Loved it

Another fantastic gem of a book, with the wonderful narration by Lesley Manville. She certainly made all the characters come alive. This book was even better than the Thursday Murder Club, which was also fabulous . What a special treat hearing the chat between Lesley Manville and Richard Osman at the end.
Can’t wait for the 3rd book.

Absolutely loved this book, as well as The Thursday Murder club. You fall in love with the characters (especially Joyce) and they have really become quite special to me. An absolute must read (or listen)

    another exciting murder solved

I love it that the main characters are seniors! Very entertaining again. I love Joyce coming out more and not just being the non-former-agent-who-has-no-clue. She can contribute a lifetime of experience and observance.

    Absolutely fantastic

Not only is the plot crafted very cleverly, but I also love the human interaction between the protagonists. Osmans books are very much in the tradition of Agatha Christie, if I dare say so, especially by giving a group of elderly people a voice and lots of action. I am hooked on his books. Also the reading of Lesley Manville is impeccable. Such a treat for the soul.

    Spannender Krimi

Tolle Sprecher (in der englischen Originalfassung) und spannende Geschichte. Durch die verschiedenen Akzente werden die Charaktere lebendig und sympathisch. Gut gemachter Krimi. Empfehlenswert!

    Very good 2nd part

I feel obligated to write a good review after I hated the 3rd book audio version.
In this one the story is fun, and the characters have... character? I loved it and laughed as with the 1st part

    Great book, superb reader!

Once again Richard writes a book you can't stop listening to. I adore his writing style, the way he keeps you coming back for more with terrific cliffhangers and the relatable characters. Lesley Manville is a joy to listen to, the way she gives everyone a distinctive voice or a way of speaking transports you into the story.

Even better than the first part

Twists I didnt see coming. Scenes that made me laugh and almost cry. Magnificent reading - at one point I thought it'd be too much, but at the end this "overacting" made perfect sense. And, of course, Bogdan again as "Deus ex machina".

    Fantastisch!!!

    What a gem.

As an audio book geek I have to say both books so far where more than 5 stars. The way the characters are built is gorgeous and the way Lesley plays them is simply lovely. Such a British charm of a book can only be recommended.
