    Honestly very disappointed with what I have heard with this audiobook thus far. Seven chapters in, and all Severian has done has objectified women. The story gets a bit better later on, as they visit a key character, but this book is very hit or miss. Which is very odd, because the other books are absolutely fantastic! It does not help that Wolfe intended these to be one big novel, and that the publisher insisted he break them up into a tetralogy. If all four audiobooks were compiled into one, I would have just skipped over the majority of the Sword of the Lictor.

    That said, the series is still brilliant. And, Jonathan Davis does an absolutely fantastic job, once again. His characterisation of Severian is spot on.
