The automobile industry has abandoned Vacca Vale, Indiana, leaving the residents behind, too. In a run-down apartment building on the edge of town, commonly known as the Rabbit Hutch, a number of people now reside quietly, looking for ways to live in a dying city. Here live four teenagers who have recently aged out of the state foster-care system: three boys and one girl, Blandine, who The Rabbit Hutch centers around. when will we stop romanticizing pedophilia
and simultaneously masking that romanticization as psychological exploration? otherwise, it would have been a decent albeit dry book

Long and boring
This story was confusing switching between different characters. The book is long and the story very boring. I made it half way, but could not force myself to finish it.

Wish I had not paid for this.
I tried…hoping it would improve… but had to quit. Never finished. Not one character appealed to me. Took too long for a story line.

Heartbreaking
This brilliantly written novel is quite dark, very sad so be forewarned. The author accurately captures what happens to many youth who emerge from the foster care system with little to no guidance and support.

Painting with different size brushes
like a painting painted by different size brushes tells one story through different point of views the book is interesting. Certain characters are painted like caricatures but some others are made with deep passion and understanding. Not an easy read and sometimes the writing may not seem to make sense. hopping to enjoy more great works for this young writer in the future.

Surprised and Delighted!
Let me say first I love this ensemble cast of narrators! Also, I am surprised by this great story and easy read.
I have given up on new author fiction, because maybe I have just become a snob. This new author deserves the hype and I wish her a long and dynamic career.
Great story, easy read, sympathetic characters, and believable scenario.
Looking forward to next book!

Beautiful language
This is a lovely, very beautifully written story. Not sure that the audiobook is the best format to enjoy it though. You should swim in the words printed on the page to really experience the author’s brilliance.

She might be the author, but her reading of the book is not appealing
I’m reading this book with great enjoyment, and bought it with an audible credit for long walks with my dogs. The author’s reading voice is truly disappointing, and not conducive to flowing with the story… I found myself turning off the AirPods and giving up on the audio version. Not a smooth, pleasant voice- too high pitched and squeaky.
