J. B. Johnson owned the largest cattle spread in Tom Green County, Texas. He had the world by the tail—money, prestige, and a family he cared for. Then five no-counts came to his ranch while he and his son were in Dallas, shot his foreman, and took his daughters. They demanded money in exchange for the girls.
J. B. immediately thought of Marshal Sam Jackson, worked his political connections, and got him placed on leave to accompany him to recover his daughters. As it turned out, he got a bonus: Luke Red Feather, Sam’s friend and a noted tracker and bounty hunter. After resolving the Johnson matter, Sam’s status as a U.S. Marshal was restored. He and Luke team up on other quests to find bank robbers, cattle thieves, and murderers. There is nonstop action, mishaps, dead men, and the trials and tribulations that accompany each and every quest.
