The Man Who Sold the Moon: A landmark volume in Heinlein’s magnificent Future History series.

    Great story but...

Claims to be unabridged. Is both abridged and censored. Good narrator, but I just can't get past the censorship and the "unabridged" lie. Try to be a little more honest next time Audible. had I known, I wouldn't have wasted my money and stuck with the George Guidell version. Gives me doubts as to how censored the rest of my library is.

    A Science Fiction Classic!

If you could sum up The Man Who Sold the Moon in three words, what would they be?

    Heinlein's Future History...

What did you like best about this story?

These stories have "aged" surprisingly well. I find myself just as excited by the audiobook version as I was on my first reading of the book, now many years ago.

What does Buck Schirner bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The voicing made the book stand out as even more memorable than my first experience reading it.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

"Requiem" very nearly brought me to tears.

    Any additional comments?

Rated PG 13 for mild profanity. (Single instance.)

    Love Heinlein, but..

The reader wasn't good. He tried to use the rough Bogart voice, which came across as crude rather than tough.

    Superb performance!

Buck Schirner perfectly captures the 1950s speech patterns of the characters. They sound just like I imagined they would when I first read this book.

The Man Who Sold The Moon

"The Man Who ..." may be RAH's most intriguing short story before he fell into the novella and adult length genres. Incredible attention to details and twists and turns. Joe 2015

The most memorable part is the title.

It was better when I read it 50 years ago. It was better 30 years ago.

    Titular novella is pretty good...

...the rest of the collection isn't.

    Sorry, Bob.

    Hey it's Heinlien

Old school sci fi but worth the listen. But definitely dated now. The performance was very good.

    Bretty gud.

My first Heinlein experience. It really feels like old science fiction, when the science behind an idea mattered, but not the logistics or realization of the concept. All in all, there are some memorable quotes in here. It's worth hearing.
