All was well for Martin Reed, a 20-year-old PhD biologist, until one day, he came across a gene sequence that seemed unusual, out of place. With the help of his girlfriend, Helen, Martin began exploring this mystery sequence. Their discovery would shake humanity to the very edge of its existence. Buried in the deep secrets of our DNA lies a set of instructions on how to build a protein molecule, as well as the importance of its lock-and-key characteristics. With these instructions, a learned person could create the very essence of what we know as life. Each day brought more detail and further “instructions”. Martin would soon conclude a very simple fact - we are not alone.

Outside his comfort zone, Martin sought help to understand his discoveries and his path would lead to some of the world’s authorities on data analysis and climate change. By now, Martin had come to understand these “instructions” came with an understanding human existence was an experiment and would end should we fail to ensure the survival of our planet. The race was on. Would Martin convince those responsible to take the necessary steps to curb climate change before a decision was made to end the experiment? How far will the team go to prevent the demise of humanity, and most importantly, did we already know what Martin discovered?
