Description

The restoration of glory

After 4,000 years of waiting, Prophecy has been fulfilled! The Dark Lord Tommus, heir to the Throne of Orcus, has relit Mount Doom in the Abyss! It is time for the Orcs to reclaim their rightful place in the multiverse!

As the orcs rejoice and race to rebuild the connections between their worlds and the Abyss and the alvar gird for war, Tom discovers his new home comes with some unexpected guests - guests who may provide him with leverage in his conflict with the god Tiernon.

Hilda and the avatars of Tiernon work to establish a new base of operations upon the plains of Murgatroy to launch a rescue mission for Talarius.

Meanwhile, aboard Dante's Inferno, Oorstemoth and the Rod invade the Abyss on their joint mission to rescue Talarius and arrest Lord Edwyrd.

Exador needs the assistance of the Storm Lords to destroy Lenamare and the Council of Wizardry and seize The Book once and for all. In return, he must first recreate the lost works of the Dark Apostle.

You meet the nicest people in Heaven, except...

J.L. Langland, the master of multiversal dynamics is back to explaining how everything we thought we understood about history and mythology actually came about. You will find yourself rethinking your concepts of good and evil as the story introduces you to a vast multiverse of worlds, planes of existence and their inhabitants. This environment is further enhanced by cleverly melding fantasy and science fiction concepts in a way that actually makes sense. Book 2 continues the story as Tom manages to fight his way through one potential disaster after another while collecting one of the oddest groups of friends and enemies you will likely ever meet. The story takes you across some of the most original, imaginative landscapes you will ever encounter to face a series of challenges that may determine the outcome of good vs evil across many worlds in the known multiverse. Bel Davies has an amazing ability to bring each character to life with voices and personality traits that fit perfectly with the story. His reading style is perfect for this book since the wide variety of characters could have been difficult to follow without his ability to make them real. This story is destined to become one of the classic fantasy series and is highly recommended for anyone who loves the fantasy and science fiction.

95% drama and set up.

The first two books were truly eye opening experiences and everything went at an incredible pace.

This book is so slow I had a hard time keeping focus. It's not that nothing happens just all side stuff that leads to a big, kind of, conclusion at the end.

I felt personally let down because the battle at the end was very very very dull besides a few key parts that get you excited then it's back to snores Ville. Before that, only one battle happened and it wasnt very long.

Compared to the first to, this one is just average on every count. There was to many split stories all coming together in a very odd way. I get that is the point but I think this book took too long for everything to happen and there just wasn't enough action to keep me interested for long lengths of time. Definitely a start and stop book (this is coming from someone who has only been reading this series and nothing else).

Dont get me wrong, you should read the series it's worth every minute but expect to have to trudge through this one.

A Fun and Different Perspective on Fantasy

Any additional comments?

I think I need to clarify what I think about this book, particularly because I don't like fantasy. Fantasy, as I feel, as a strange feel to it where it seems as though they're so caught up in their world that they feel less epic and more like they're full of themselves. With this series, you find yourself questioning the world, getting tongue and cheek humor while also feeling for an actual expansive universe that makes SENSE. This is a universe that I just love coming back to, not only for the characters and story, but for the writing. Langland is an inspiring writer because while he doesn't write the wittiest or verbose dialogue, save for a certain set of someones, he's fun, interesting, and has damn good ideas that I'd love to see continue.

Amazing!

highly enjoyable and engaging series! and talk about length! quality and quantity! there is a surprising amount of happy and good feels throughout all of the chaos racism and gore. I am not any type of Horror or angsty reader, I highly recommend this series ability to be adventurous and devious without making it feel like a grind emotionally to get to the awesome parts. the development of the various characters in this book alone and ones from previous books who are continuing to evolve is the best part! the plethora of people of vastly different races, Pantheon's, and diverse relationships ensures a little something for everybody. ^_^

enjoyable

loved most of it. I struggled at times with the number of characters with quick changes of place and "people". But other than that the scale and imagination here is great. There is a lighthearted, fun taste through out the book that made it more enjoyable for me.
